Cadillac has officially announced t o produce a production version of the Cadillac Converj concept car.
The Cadillac Converj concept car is a dramatic luxury coupe with extended range electric vehicle technology called as Cadillac ELR. The production of Cadillac ELR is underway so details on performance, price and timing will be announced later.
The Cadillac Converj concept car feature electric propulsion system made up of T shaped lithium ion battery, electric drive unit and four cylinder engine generator which uses electricity as its primary source to drive the car without using gasoline or producing tailpipe emissions. When the battery energy is low ELR seamlessly switches to extended range mode to enable driving for hundreds of additional miles.
The Cadillac ELR will offer something not otherwise present the combination of electric propulsion with striking design and the fun of luxury coupe driving. Cadillac selected the name ELR to indicate cars electric propulsion technology in keeping with brands 3-letter international model naming convention. The concept generated instant enthusiasm said by Don Butler vice president of Cadillac Marketing.
The Cadillac Converj concept car was design of combining desirability of grand touring coupe with electrification said by Ed Welburn, GM vice president, Global Design. It is an aggressive, forward leaning profile and proportion showcases uniquely shaped, modern vision of personal luxury 2+2 car.
