Gas prices continued to inch higher Thursday, according to a widely followed survey from motorist group AAA.
Regular unleaded gasoline edged higher to a nationwide average of $3.267 a gallon, up from $3.261 a gallon Wednesday.
Diesel: The truck stops here
Gas prices reached an all-time high of $3.285 a gallon on March 16, according to AAA's Web site.
The cost of diesel fell about five tenths of a cent to $4.022, according to AAA. Diesel fuel hit an all-time high of $4.037 on March 22, and has declined only slightly since then. Hawaii led the nation with the highest gas prices at an average of $3.638 a gallon.
California follows, with drivers paying $3.624 a gallon. Gasoline in Missouri, Minnesota and New Jersey continued to trail with average prices under $3.10 a gallon. The AAA report is a daily survey conducted for the group by Oil Price Information Service.
