McLaren revealed new McLaren MP4-12C

McLaren the formula one racing car manufacturer has revealed the new McLaren MP4-12C and details of the car is given below. The car has features like small, low CO2 emissions, less weight etc.,

The McLaren MP4-12C has a 3.8-L twin turbo petrol engine system manufactured in association with Ricardo. The highest power output is a roaring 441 kW with 592 bhp or 600 PS developed at 7,000 rpm. The engine can rev all the way up to a dizzy 8,500 rpm. The highest torque of the car is 599 Nm or 442 lb-ft from 3,000 rpm. Actually the torque is 479 Nm or 353 lb-ft from 2,000 rpm. Performance figures are not available yet but expect 0 - 100 km/h figures in the very low 3s and a top speed well over 300 km/h (186 mph).

The Torque of the car leaves to the rear axle through a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox driven by F1-style aluminium rockers situated behind the steering wheel. It provides an option of standard, racing and road driving modes. There is two designs namely H and P. H refers to handling and changes things like steering weight, suspension stiffness and stability control. Choosing P mode alters throttle response, gearshift times and engine sounds.

The McLaren MP4-12C car is so compact which is 4507mm long, 1199mm high, 1908mm wide and with a wheelbase of 2670mm and credits to dry weight of less than 1,300kg or 2,866 lbs and a carbon composite monocoque. The main one is of course better performance, but there is also the small matter of C02 emissions. McLaren Automotive reports a figure of under 300g/km. The interior of the car has the latest gadgets with a 7-inch touch screen and Wi-Fi connectivity.
