The Environmental Protection Agency or EPA has finished testing the 2011 Ford Fiesta and has officially announced that the new FoMoCo compact will hit 40 mpg highway, making it the most fuel-efficient car in its class.
The 2011 Ford Fiesta is powered with a 1.6L DOHC 4-cylinder engine system making 120-hp with a peak torque of 109 lb-ft. The EPA rated the 2011 Fiesta at 29/40 mpg on city/highway when connected to a 6-speed Power Shift automatic transmission and 28/37 mpg when connected to a 5-speed manual. The cost of the 2011 Ford Fiesta starts at $13,320.
“We worked hard to deliver the class-leading fuel economy Ford is becoming synonymous for,” said Steve Pintar, Fiesta chief nameplate engineer. To be the only vehicle in the segment to deliver 40 mpg is something we feel consumers will appreciate.
